Steel structure buildings are playing an increasingly important role in the modern construction industry. Metal tiles, particularly color-coated steel tiles, are ubiquitous and widely applied in numerous structures. For instance, metal tiles are often used for the rooftops of steel structure factories and for temporarily constructing simple sheds. Today, let's briefly explore the types of metal tiles.

Steel structure buildings

Color-coated Metal Tiles: Color-coated steel plates, also known as color-coated metal tiles, are made of galvanized aluminum-zinc steel plates, aluminum-magnesium-manganese alloy, or galvanized steel plates as the substrate, with a baked enamel finish. The primary distinction between them lies in their surfaces—one has a concave-convex matte texture, while the other has a smooth and flat surface. Color-coated steel plates are more frequently used in steel structure buildings, not only for rooftops but also for wall panels.

Colored Stone Metal Tiles: Metal tiles are categorized into colored stone metal tiles and color-coated metal tiles. Colored stone metal tiles use galvanized aluminum-zinc steel plates as the substrate, acrylic resin as the adhesive, and colored basalt sand as the surface layer for roofing materials. The reason for using galvanized aluminum-zinc steel plates as the substrate is their excellent corrosion resistance, which extends the lifespan of colored stone metal tiles.

Lap and Lock Systems: The lap systems for metal tiles include standing seam systems, flat lock systems, and profiled sheet systems. The most commonly seen lap system is the profiled sheet system. Due to its simplicity, its waterproofing performance is inferior to the aforementioned lock systems.
